Lesson Schedules and Cancellation

Planned Schedule: Sessions will begin on agreed date between tutor and student (subject to change due to tutor or student availability).

All ten sessions of the block must be delivered by the tutor, and received by the student unless formally notified of cancellation in writing.

Tutoring sessions between tutor and student shall continue to roll from session to session and block booking to block booking until formally notified of cancellation in writing by either party.

Cancellation of any individual sessions must be made with 48hrs notice. This excludes sickness.

Should the Student/Parent or Guardian cancel any booked session with less than 48hrs notice the session will still be charged and therefore lost. This excludes sickness.

Should the Tutor cancel any booked session with less than 48hrs notice the session will be owed to the student and an additional session, of the same duration, will be granted to the student. This excludes sickness.

This tutoring contract can be terminated by Tutor, Student or Parent/Guardian at any time with 30 days prior notice.

The Tutor/Parent/Guardian may adjust their times during holiday periods within 48hrs notice.

If at any time a member of our staff feels threatened or vulnerable, the contract may be overridden to protect their safety and care. This measure ensures that all interactions remain respectful and conducive to a positive learning environment.

Obligations of the Tutor

The Tutor agrees to carry out all necessary research prior to each lesson to maximise the student’s learning time. The Tutor agrees to keep all information regarding the student’s education confidential unless written permission has been granted by the student to disclose. This includes any work that the student has produced during or out with lesson times. The Tutor agrees to carry out all lessons in person unless a prior arrangement has been made to conduct lessons online. The Tutor shall not sub-contract to another tutor for lessons that are intended to be conducted by him or herself. The Tutor shall not complete homework or any other classroom assignments that are intended for completion by the student.

Obligations of the Parent

The Parent/Guardian agrees to support the student to attend all scheduled lessons and encourages the student to be pro-active in making suggestions about their own education. The Parent/Guardian agrees to receive any homework or classwork assignments set by the Tutor to share with the student. The Parent/Guardian understands that tutoring has been provided to support the ability of the student and does not hold the tutor accountable for any academic test results, entry exam results and third party gradings. The Parent/Guardian agrees that the tutoring is being delivered as a separate entity to their schooling and should not be compared to one another.

Obligations of the Student

The student agrees to attend all scheduled lessons and be pro-active in making suggestions about their own education. The student agrees to complete any homework or classwork assignments set by the Tutor in a timely manner as agreed prior to the task being set. The student understands that it is not within the Tutor’s remit to complete homework or classroom exercises on behalf of the student and that the Tutor’s role is one of support.

Termination of Tutoring Contract

This tutoring contract can be terminated by Tutor, Student or Parent/Guardian at any time with 30 days prior notice.

Fees

Fee must be paid 7days prior to any single or block booking beginning, as agreed by both parties.

The Tutor may adjust their fees at any time and will provide the Student/Parent or Guardian with 30 days written notice in such cases.
